What is this experience? Most people meet Indian food in a restaurant. This evening, you meet it the way we do: in a kitchen, with a chef who cooks for a living and a table waiting at the end. Join us, for a hands-on cooking class that ends the way every good Indian meal does: everyone sitting down together to eat what they have cooked. This experience is designed by Hungryhitchhiker and Culinary Monk, known to curates things so that they can act as bridge between world with the medium of food, and who believes you only really understand a dish once you have cooked it. Choose your menu at booking Ghar ka Khana (The Home Table). The food Jaipur families actually eat on an ordinary evening: seasonal vegetables, dal, fresh rotis, a regional specialty and something sweet. Simple, balanced and nothing like a restaurant menu. Restaurant Favourites. The dishes you know from Indian restaurants abroad, cooked from scratch and explained. You will learn what is a restaurant invention, what is genuinely traditional, and how the home version differs. How the evening goes Welcome: chai and an introduction to the spice box: what each spice does and how Indian cooks use it. Meet the ingredients: seasonal produce and how it shapes the menu. Cook together: [3 to 4] dishes plus fresh bread, hands-on, with the chef guiding each step. Sit down and eat: a proper dinner at the table, the way it is meant to be eaten. Take it home: recipe notes so you can recreate the meal.
